Vishakha Nakshatra: Rudraksha, Significance, Astrology and More

What is Vishakha Nakshatra?

In the previous blogs, we have read about the lunar mansion in which the Moon revolves and rotates around the Earth like the Earth rotates and revolves around the Sun. this is why the Moon can empower 28 constellations, one on each day of its one complete rotation. These constellations or Nakshatras are the ones that look different on a different day with a cluster of stars impacting significance or astrology on the people born during the time.

Till now, we have talked about the first fifteen Nakshatras in Indian and Western Astrology namely, Ashwini, Bharani, Krittika, Rohini, Mrigshira, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, and Swati Nakshatras. Now, we will be talking about Vishakha Nakshatra.

About Vishakha Nakshatra

Being the most desired Nakshatra of the Moon, Vishakha Nakshatra is considered to be the sixteenth Nakshatra for the Moon’s Lunar mansion. Vishakha is known to be the most desired Nakshatra because of its exceptional beauty and its availability at the right time.

It is believed that King Daksha had 28 daughters and he married all of them to Chandra, moon. All these daughters were rulers of one constellation each and thus, 28 constellations exist.

Since the Moon has to rotate and revolve around Earth, so it would dedicate one day to each daughter, and thus, each of the Nakshatras was supposed to share Chandra for one day in a month of 28 days.

However, it is believed that Chandra was overly obsessed with Vishakha and his glow would increase multifold whenever he met Vishakha. This was why Chandra stopped following his duties of revolving around the Earth causing a lot of troubles like destruction on Earth, earthquakes, high tides, and everything that could end life on Earth.

Lord Brahma could not see how his creation was getting destroyed so he wanted this to end as fast as possible but Chandra paid no attention.

All the other daughters complained to Daksha about this and Daksha tried to warn Chandra but he again turned a blind eye to everything.

In complete anger, Daksha used his power of being a father and a great ruler and cursed Chandra with the loss of all his glow within no time.

Initially, Chandra still did not pay attention but by the time Chandra had lost more than 90% of his glow, he understood that he needed immediate rescue or he would be gone forever. This was when he rushed to Lord Brahma who said it was too late and only Lord Shiva could do anything at all.

Chandra then went to Lord Shiva who wasn’t keen at first but then accepted Chandra’s prayers. He said that while he will never be able to reverse Daksha’s curse completely, he will least be able to minimize the damage wherein Chandra will lose his charm in fifteen days and then gain it back in the next fifteen days. Just so that Daksha does not do any more harm to Chandra, Shiva took Chandra on his head and asked Chandra to keep operating and he will lose and gain his charm within no time.

The day when Chandra gets his full charm back is still with Vishakha Nakshatra and this is why it is a full-moon day on Vishakha Nakshatra day..

People born in Vishakha Nakshatra are blessed with desirability. Everyone wants them and the moment they become someone else’s, then all others also envy them. People born in Vishakha Nakshatra are never good to one another and are always envious of each other. There is something in these people because of which even if they try to be with someone, they’ll develop a very high desirability, and then their people will hate them for this desirability only and they’ll be all alone, once again.

Also, people who have an empowered Vishakha Nakshatra can make others shine with their betterness but somehow their benefits come with a flaw of the mandate to accept them with their bitterness as well due to which maximum people get short of approaching them forever.

Having said this, Vishakha Nakshatra is still one of the most desired Nakshatras because it empowers a lot of confidence in the owner and most importantly, it makes these people invincible. They will only suffer when they aren’t able to control their feelings for them doing something really unwanted and extremely stupid.
