Chakras and the Human Body
Chakra is a traditional Sanskrit word that means a wheel or something round that has a radius, a diameter, and a circumference. Chakra is something that is round and it starts from some place and after travelling a specific distance, it ends at the same place only. This makes the entire path traced by the traveler a complete circle and therefore, a Chakra.
In a human body, there are multiple joints, multiple points, and multiple roots for the nerves veins, and muscles to exist. These nerves and veins are either running parallel to each other or are intersecting something at some point to access the other side of the body. These intersections can be one-off, wherein only one or two cross-overs happen or these can be like a proper junction wherein multiple cross-overs happen.
In the human body, there are 109 total joints where some or the other type of crossovers happen and out of these 109, there are 9 major junctions or nerve centers. From these 9 major junctions, 7 mega junctions account for the maximum number of crosses over and coincidentally, all these seven lie on a very straight line, that can virtually divide the body from top to bottom in a perfect symmetry based upon the outer lining of the body.
These seven mega junctions or major nerve centers are the supply of energy, power, and exchange of good with bad and bad with good for different regions of the body.
If there is anything that happens in the entire body at least one of these mega centers is involved in the same otherwise there is no possibility of the same at all. At any point in a living person, at least one or all of the seven major Chakras are active and they keep performing something to manage the most complicated human system.
Now, if we see logically, these Chakras are the ones that guide the actions and their repercussions over the human body, so maintaining these Chakras and strengthening them at any cost is the most important.
So, first let us learn the names, benefits, and effects of each Chakra in brief and then in the next series of blogs, we shall talk about each Chakra in detail with problems and solutions that can make a person much better.
In short, in this blog, we will learn the What’s, and in the next series of blogs, we will learn the Why’s for these What’s.
1. Muladhaar Chakra (The First Chakra or the Root Chakra)
This is the first Chakra of the body if we move from the South point of the body to the North point. Mul in Sanskrit means the Root and Adhaar means the Base. So Muladhaar Chakra is the basic nerve center of the body and thus, it is the first and very important Chakra of the body.
Muladhar Chakra is active in all sorts of enthusiastic, adrenaline-filled activities. It is dormant or not very involved in times of low-energy activities or dullness. If you are hyper-excited to do something, your Muladhaar Chakra is affected and if you are not excited about anything or getting bored, your Muladhar Chakra is at rest.
Muladhar Chakra or Root Chakra’s lucky color is Red. It is located at the bottom of the spinal cord and it facilitates the excretion system of the body. It signifies the down-to-earth character syndrome and if someone is too naive, innocent, and straightforward, their Muladhar Chakra is very strong.

2. Swadhishthan Chakra (Sacral Chakra)
The second Chakra of the human body, Swadhishthan Chakra or Sacral Chakra, is located behind the genitals of the human body, right above the Muladhar Chakra. It is the representation of the needs of humans to exist in the form of water, creativity, and lust.
Swadhishthan Chakra is active in all types of lusty, sexual, and lovely times of the human body. So if you are extremely lusty at some time or you desire sex or any sexual activity, it is because your Sacral Chakra is hyperactive then and you need to either properly engage in the act to satisfy the Swadhishthan Chakra or you need to make it dormant by doing something extremely creative. The more creativity, the lower the activity of the Sacral Chakra and thus, the less lust in the person.
Swadhishthan Chakra or Sacral Chakra’s lucky color is Orange. It is located in the lower abdomen, above the Muladhar Chakra, right behind the genitals and it facilitates the blood circulatory system of the body. It signifies the essentials to life like water and love and if someone is too creative, defined, refined, and holds a strong personal identity, they have a strong Swadhisthan Chakra but if the person is too much inclined towards pleasure, sex, and lust, they have a dormant Sacral Chakra.

3. Manipur Chakra (Naval Chakra or Solar Plexus Chakra)
The third Chakra of the human body, the Solar Plexus Chakra or the Manipur Chakra is located right above the Swadhishthan Chakra or Sacral Chakra in the Naval Region. It is a representation of courage and power in the form of fire. It also represents the art of absorbing something without leaving a print behind.
Manipur Chakra or the Solar Plexus Chakra is active in all the digestion and metabolism-related areas of the body. Therefore, if you have a great metabolism, and if you are great at the management of conflicts, you have an active Manipur Chakra and if you see the emotions of jealousy, greed, extreme joy, or unwanted generosity then your Manipur Chakra or Solar Plexus Chakra is dormant or in a relaxed mode.
The lucky color of Manipur Chakra is Yellow and it is a representation of the sense of purpose of an individual along with the person’s confidence. If the person can digest all the food they intake and absorb all the knowledge imparted to them in good stride, they are having a Manipur Chakra and if the person has poor digestion, and poor absorption but is high on jealousy, greed, extreme joy, and unwanted generosity, they have a dormant Manipur chakra or Solar Plexus Chakra.

This makes it one of the most important Chakras or the lifeline of the human body.
Anahata Chakra is active in all blood circulation and nervous system requirements and this is why if you feel love, romance, or empathy for others, your Anahata Chakra or Heart Chakra is very active and if you feel scared or hurt, then your Anahata Chakra or Heart Chakra is very dormant at the moment.

Vishuddha in Sanskrit means very very clear and sound is the most clear form of communication. Thus, the Vishuddhi Chakra is the nerve center for clarity of communication.
Being an active part of the communication and personality factor, Vishuddhi Chakra is the center of communication for all the activities and actions to be taken. 6. Ajna Chakra (Third Eye Chakra)
Located exactly above the Throat Chakra, right between the two eyebrows, the Ajna Chakra is the center of attention and concentration for the people. This nerve center is the sixth Chakra in the human body but the most important one because it is situated right where the master planner, the Pituitary gland needs it the most. If Ajna Chakra cannot send a clear signal by helping with concentration, all other Chakras and body functions will start malfunctioning due to miscommunication.
Not all things are by-the-looks and by-the-books. Things that are not exactly by the book are the ones that can be imagined or instinctive. Ajna Chakra takes the responsibility of providing creativity with imagination and not just explanation. Also, Ajna Chakra, as the name suggests means to give instructions or Aagya in Sanskrit, therefore, the Ajna Chakra is very intuitive and it makes the person realize the real value of the information they receive daily with their eyes.
The lucky color of Ajna Chakra is Indigo and the system it helps in healing and circulating is the Endocrine gland or the Pituitary gland, the mastermind of the body. Ajna Chakra is responsible for representing the light of hope and positivity element of all the situations around you. Suppose the person has good intuition, clarity, imagination, spirituality, and self-awareness. In that case, they have an active Ajna Chakra or Third Eye Chakra and if the person has good awareness, alertness, and anger, they have dormant Ajna Chakra which needs to be activated.

So, located at the top of the body, top of the head, the last and final nerve center, Sahasrara is known to be the most important one because it is the Chakra of the Brain. Located right above the Ajna Chakra, on the top of the head, the Sahasrara Chakra is responsible for deep spiritual connection and the spiritual journey transformation of a person.
Being the most important Chakra of the human body, the Sahasrara Chakra is responsible for making the person extremely sensitive to change and accept things in a better format.
